In England overnight, 10-year-old shuttle stallion Xaar (Zafonic-Monroe, by Sir Ivor) added a juvenile black-type success when his colt Sir Xaar (Xaar-Cradle Brief, by Brief Truce) grabbed victory by a neck in the Listed Champion 2YO Trophy at Ripon, reported thoroughbredinternet.com. Sir Xaar defeated Johannes (by Mozart) & Campbeltown (by Mull Of Kintyre). Sir Xaar sold for €32,000 (A$51,000) as a yearling at the Tattersalls Ireland September sale & then resold for 9,000 guineas (A$23,000) at the Doncaster Bloodstock Breeze-Up Sale earlier this year.
