WA Stallions All In Place For The Season– Except One
The exciting shuttle stallion “XAAR” was released from the Eastern Creek Quarantine Station in Sydney on Tuesday of last week and arrived in Perth that afternoon on a 747 especially chartered by Darley and was in his stable that evening at Neville Duncans, Oaklands Park Stud where he will stand this season.
XAAR* was the Champion 2 & 3yo of his year in Europe and entered stud in Australia in 2000 and Ireland in 2001. He is the sire of 117 progeny to race, 44 winners (37.6%), earnings of $2 million, 4 stakes winners, 3 stakes placegetters.
We wish Oaklands Park every success with this very exciting young stallion.
The other exciting shuttle stallion to return to WA, “DANETIME”, was released from quarantine on the same day and the connections chose CHT road freight for his trip to John Andrews, Alwyn Park Stud, Serpentine, where he will stand this season. Danetime is no stranger to CHT having done the road trip with us the year before last and being the placid gentleman he is and such a good traveller he looked a treat at the Alwyn Park stallion parade 2 days after he arrived. Danetime is a Stakes winning Gr1 performer and Champion European First Crop Sire 2002, A leading Second Crop Sire with 34 winners of 66 races in 11 different countries.
Other Stallions to travel to WA with CHT road freight were “MAGIC OF SYDNEY” and “INVESTOR’S DREAM” who are both standing at Cromartry Park Stud in Harvey. The Danehill stallion, Magic of Sydney, had a race career of 4 wins from 1200m to 2000m including the Gr1 AJC Spring Champion S and is the sire of 41 winners from 95 runners since commencing stud duties in 1998. Investors Dream was 2001 Champion Brazilian 2yo Colt with 4 wins from 1100m to 1700m in USA and Brazil and this year will commence his first season as a sire.
New season USA bred sire “STATE CITY” was flown from Sydney to Perth with CHT air freight and is also standing at John Andrews Alwyn Park Stud in Serpentine. State City had 6 wins from 1000m to 1600m beating the worlds best sprinters in $US2m Dubai Golden Shaheen(Gr1, 6f) and was Champion sprinter of UAE. This will be his first year at stud. Also on the same flight was a black stallion travelling under the name of “DUBAI EXCELLENCE”.

In a new twist to what has become a full-scale thoroughbred mystery, it is now thought that Dubai Excellence, a half-brother to the world champion Dubai Millenium, ended up in the Ukraine instead of Evergreen Lodge in Western Australia after he was sold in England earlier this year.It has been confirmed that the horse that arrived in WA is Samood, an Irish-bred son of Caerleon out of the Ahonoora mare Park Appeal, the dam of successful stallion Cape Cross.
Dubai Excellence

Well the holiday in the sun down under is over for Samood. He is leaving today on CHT road freights “MEGA ARK II” for Melbourne where he will be deported.Lets hope Samood is not homeless for too long and he finds his rightfull owner before the next stud season and that Dubai Excellence can be identified and make his way Down Under. Samood is pictured here, at CHT home base, Twinbrooks, before being loaded on the Mega Ark II today.
